Print making at Ink Pipl with Perta's Monos*: what fun!

Cleaning the brayers and scrapers used for monotyping creates interesting patterns. Here's a bit of brayerart. And a happy face at the much used sink, after hours satisfying printmaking.

*Name I've given the participants in Patricia (Perta) Sennott's printmaking group at Ink People for the Arts. I am so happy to be included.

Glacier Food: cauliflower with eggplant, and oyster mushrooms

Dedicated to Robert FitzRoy, 26 year old captain of HMS Beagle, who chose Darwin as his companion and roommate and fellow naturalist.

Glacier Food: rice pudding with blueberries, on a Wedgewood plate, dedicated to Emma Wedgewood, Darwin's wife and cousin.

Why Darwin? I was captivated by the glaciers in the Beagle Channel, named for the HMS Beagle in which Darwin sailed, studied and thought. He was 22 when he became the companion of the ship's captain and 28 when he returned home to England. In his diary he writes this about seeing glaciers in Tierra del Fuego: "Several glaciers descended in a winding course, from the snow to the sea-coast: they may be likened to great frozen Niagaras; and perhaps these cataracts of blue ice are to the full as beautiful as as the moving ones of water"
